Predictive Value of Nanobacteria for Diagnosis, Efficacy, and Recurrence Risk in Coronary Heart Disease Patients

Nanobacteria (NB) are also known as calcifying nanoparticles (CNPs). Studies have found that CNPs are potential causes of calcification in human vascular diseases, and vascular calcification occurs in the process of coronary heart disease (CHD). At present, the importance of CNPs in CHD is vague. Hence, this study evaluated the clinical relevance of CNPs in CHD. The expression of CNPs in serum samples of CHD patients was evaluated by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The diagnostic and predictive values of CNPs were analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, while the correlation between serum levels of CNPs and IL-6, hs-CRP, and cardiac troponin I (cTn I) in CHD patients was evaluated by Pearson's correlation testing. The expression of CNPs in the serum of CHD patients was significantly higher than that of normal individuals, and the area under the ROC curve was greater than 0.8. Correlation analysis showed that CNPs were positively correlated with IL-6, hs-CRP, and cTn I levels. The expression of CNPs in patients receiving ineffective therapeutic interventions for CHD was obviously higher than that in those receiving effective treatment, while patients experiencing disease recurrence had markedly higher CNPs levels than those with no recurrence. Thus, CNPs levels showed marked clinical value in predicting CHD efficacy and recurrence. Further, CNPs are highly expressed in CHD patients compared to normal controls, which can be use as a potential indicator for clinical diagnosis and prognosis.
