The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) Nonprescription Drug Advisory Committee (NDAC) convened a meeting July 31, 2013, to discuss whether to recommend over-the-counter (OTC) access to triamcinolone acetonide nasal spray (Nasacort AQ; Sanofi-Aventis, Bridgewater, New Jersey) in adults and children 2 years or older. Organizations opposing this proposed change included the Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI), American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI), American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and American Academy of Pediatrics.
