After months of waiting and years of work, we finally have the Expert Panel Report 3 on the Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of Asthma? This comprehensive 440-page report is the effort of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program to enhance the quality of life for patients with asthma and to decrease asthma-related morbidity and mortality. The 440 pages of the guidelines have been reduced to a 74-page summary that was published this past year.
