Castration by crushing the testicle cord, a short historical review [French]

The castration performed by hammering the cord of testicles was a very old method used in Spain, Italy and the South of France. In the beginning of the 20(th) Century Victor Even in France, Reggiani and Napoleone Burdizzo in Italy constructed castration instruments using the principle of crushing the testicle cord without injuring the skin. In the 1920(th) the Italian Eschini developed also a castration instrument using the same crushing method, but only the castration pincers of Burdizzo was successful up to the present days.
