摘要

The U.S. sees itself as more "forward-leaning" than the European Union in its plans to tackle non-market economies but is hoping a new deal with the EU will allow for a more effective joint approach, an administration official said on Tuesday. Addressing a "joint analysis of non-market practices" in a cooperative framework for large civil aircraft released on Tuesday, the U.S. and the EU committed to sharing information about extensive state subsidies to the large civil aircraft sector and to consider potential "joint action" in response to non-market practices. After the framework was released, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative official was asked by a reporter if the EU was open to taking the types of bold actions the U.S. is planning in addressing non-market economies - principally China.
