Camel Milk: A Therapeutic Approach for the Management of Diabetes and its Complications

Camel milk is a healthy food used in many countries for different health problems from ancient period. Many research findings proved that camel milk is similar to human milk than any other milk. Camel milk is proved to have some health benefits like Antihypertensive effect, Anti-diarrheal effect, Hypocholes-terolemic effect, Hypoallergenicity effect, antioxidant activity, antimicrobial activity, Anticancer activity, antidiabetic activity. It is rich in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin B, vitamin C and iron. It contains lysozyme, lactoferrin, LP (Lactoperoxidase) and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) which have anti-diarrheal/ antibacterial action. It contains orotic acid which is responsible for lowering cholesterol level. It contains disease-fighting immunoglobulins which are small in size, increasing the effectiveness of the immune system and allowing penetration of antigens (Solanki and Hati, 2018). It contains some antimicrobial substance which includes lysozyme, hydrogen peroxide, lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase and immunoglobulins.
