Calcasieu Pass gets final environmental approval

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has granted final environmental approval for the proposed Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal in Louisiana and a lateral pipeline that will bring in feedgas. The project's US-based developer, Venture Global, expects to get FERC construction authorisation and to fund the 10mn t/yr project in early 2019. Exports would begin in 2022. The final environmental approval statement specified a need to implement certain measures to reduce the project's potential impact.
