Southeast Asia's first humane-certified broiler farm targets niche appeal

Etablished in 1972, Toh Thye San operates 13 poultry farms in Malaysia's southern state of Johor. Of these, four are HFAC-certified and produce red naked-neck broilers, while the rest raise white and red broilers conventionally."We are a fully integrated operator with our own broiler and breeder farms, a hatchery and feedmill. We are now mulling going into egg production," Kenny Toh Kang Wei, Toh Thye San's Head of Projects, told Asian Poultry Magazine.Two thousand certified-humane broilers are exported to Singapore daily, then dressed and distributed to supermarkets, restaurants and cafes.
