US pellet exports grow,Canadian exports dip

US wood pellet exports rose to a January high to serve growing demand in the UK,the Netherlands and Denmark,while ongoing logistical disruptions curbed Canadian pellet exports that month.US wood pellet exports rose by 6pc and 20pc on the respective month and year to 600,000t in January 2021,offsetting a decline in Canadian pellet exports.Canada exported 212,000t of wood pellets in January,down by 21pc and 24pc on the month and year,as its deliveries to the UK halved on the year.Combined,the two countries exported 811,000t of wood pellets in January,a record high for the month and up by 5.6pc on the year.
