Beyond: Position Statements: Advancing Inclusivity in Entomology by Funding Undergraduate Researchers

We've been living in what most people would agree are historic times, marked by uncertainty. In the summer of 2020, the world watched as George Floyd and others lost their lives to police officers. These actions laid bare long-standing issues ofrace, values, and social divisions regarding such issues, bringing into question our broader goals and intentions as a nation built of people from all over the world. One benefit of the broadly experienced recent turmoil is that individuals and groups are more rapidly implementing social changes. We need to reconcile our differences and create an environment where the vast opportunities available in our country are equally accessible to all members of our society. Our work to create equal opportunitiesthroughout the many spaces in which we operate is clearly not finished.
