Culmination of a five-stage maturity model: automated, intelligent, remote, resilient and autonomous. SIMILAR to many industrial automation user group meetings in the past 16 months, this spring's gathering of the Honeywell User Group (HUG) community was virtual, taking the form of a series of HUG Tech Talks on June 21-22. An annual tradition-and much anticipated update among the Honeywell faithful-is CTO Jason Urso's overview of the company's newest offerings, paired this year with the company vision of helping its process industry clients on their "journey toward industrial autonomous." Urso explained that Honeywell's vision of industrial autonomy builds on the company's decades-long legacy of providing improved process performance and safety, notably through better situational awareness among operators and integrating of process control with business systems. The theme was and remains, Urso said, "How do we use technology to make better decisions?"
