Recycling: the lifeblood of battery materials supply

If the lifeblood of the batteries industry is its minerals then the mining industry is the beating heart. As minerals are pumped from the earth into the batteries that power so much of modern life the recirculation of those minerals becomes more important. Anything that causes the fluidity of that movement to slow needs to be removed as a matter of urgency. Therefore a circular economy is an important consideration for ensuring the wellbeing of the supply system. However, achieving this will be more than a simple open-, or closed-loop case.
