It has now been close to five years since the Government of India announced the very ambitious 'National Electro Mobility Mission Plan 2020'— a vision that had exhorted the industry to rise and achieve a target of of five to six million new xEVs on road, every year, by 2020! In reality the figure had to struggle to reach five digits and presently is estimated at around 20,000 per annum, counting all two-, three- and four-wheelers together!
