TEXAN IIs FOR VIETNAM

The US Air Force (USAF) has given its approval to sell the Beechcraft T-6 Texan II turboprop trainer/light attack aircraft to Vietnam, US Pacific Air Forces Commander General Ken Wilsbach, announced on June 4. Vietnam first expressed interest in acquiring Texan IIs in 2019 after the US government lifted its military embargo on Vietnam in 2016. The USAF issued a request for information in February 2021 that said it was seeking to secure a contract to provide the Vietnam People's Air Force with three trainer aircraft and establish, operate and sustain a "modern undergraduate pilot training" program.
