SINGAPORE DEPLOYMENT TO GUAM

A REPUBLIC of Singapore Air Force deployment to Andersen Air Force Base (AFB), Guam, has involved F-15SGs, F-16s and a Gulfstream G550 Conformal Airborne Early Warning (CAEW) aircraft. The two-month deployment began on May 24 and is intended to provide bilateral training for aircrew and maintenance personnel to enhance interoperability and cultivate regional partnerships. Whilst at Andersen, the RSAF will also train with US Navy EA-18G Growlers operated by Electronic Attack Squadron 132 (VAQ-132) 'Scorpions' from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington. This latest deployment continues a long-running Singapore practice of training on Guam, bilateral exercises with the US Marine Corps having been conducted as early as the 1990s. Most recently, in 2019, the RSAF deployed to Andersen for training.
