Russian iron ore market begins to stabilise

The Russian iron ore market is gradually stabilising after the end of the spring re-signing campaign. All long-term agreements that ended in March were re-signed in mid-April, and the price confrontation between consumers and suppliers was over. The share of long-term contract shipments returned to normal in April at 75?80% of the free market volumes. In recent months, this figure did not exceed 65%, because most holdings decided to increase the use of in-house raw materials, and consumers diversified their purchases to strengthen their positions in negotiations.
