LPG, bunker fuel drive South Korean oil demand

Seoul-South Korea’s oil demand in October rose 5.1% year on year to 77.15 million barrels, or 2.49 million b/d, as robust demand for LPG and bunker fuel helped the Asian consumer post the 13th consecutive month of positive growth, data released Tuesday by the Korea National Oil Corp. showed. October’s oil demand was also up 2.8% from September, while cumulative consumption over the first 10 months of this year showed a 7.9% year-on-year rise to 757.85 million barrels. Overall demand grew despite shrinking demand for transportation fuels.
