London—France’s Total saw its first-quarter oil and gas production slump by 6% year on year—mostly because of the loss of output from the major Adco oil concession in the UAE—and expressed frustration at the disappointing performance of two of its key, nonoperated projects. But Total said Wednesday it hopes to compensate in part for the losses in 2014 through the startup of a number of new projects in the coming months, and said its 2015 output target of 2.6 million b/d of oil equivalent remained unchanged.
