OPEC made ‘high-risk’ decision: Iran’s Zanganeh

Vienna-OPEC’s decision to maintain its cur- rent crude production target despite plunging prices and forecasts of lower demand for the group’s oil next year was a “high-risk” move, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said Friday. Oil prices have been in a freefall since the oil producer group ended its Vienna talks Thurs- day with an agreement to leave its 30 million b/d target in place through the first half of next year. Brent crude, which was worth $115/barrel in mid-June, has traded Friday below $70/b.
