Singapore well positioned for LNG trading

Singapore—Singapore’s ambition of becoming a trading hub for LNG is panning out well given the ongoing evolution of trading and demand patterns, experts attending the World LNG Series-Asia Pacific Summit in Singapore said Thursday. In a panel session on pricing and trading, Anthony Barker, general manager of BG Singapore Gas Marketing, said that since the Singapore LNG regasification terminal started operations in May, he has seen market requirements “for a more balanced portfolio of supply” between long-term and short-term volumes and the company has been looking at altering frequency of delivery and size of delivery “in response to the market.”
