BG, Ophir buoyed by more Tanzania gas

London—The prolific waters off East Africa continue to flow more gas than previously thought, with the UK’s BG Group and Ophir Energy buoyed May 1 by an increase in likely reserves at the Mzia field offshore Tanzania. Ophir said its estimate of mean recoverable reserves at Mzia has now risen from 3.5 Tcf to 4.5 Tcf following a flow test at the BGoperated Mzia-2 well at Block 1.
