Afghanistan to launch exploration auction

Manama—Afghanistan will soon open bidding for six oil and gas exploration blocks in the Afghan-Tajik basin, the second in the country to be opened up for development, Ministry of Mines Director General of Policy and Programs Abdul-Jalil Jumriany said May 8. “The tender will be released in July; bids are due in late October,” he told delegates at the Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference in Manama.
