Houston-Permitting snags are easing in Cali fornia for big upstream operator Occidental Petroleum, with a slew of recent state approv als on wells that include injectors, company CEO Steve Chazen said January 25. Chazen acknowledged, in response to an analyst question during a quarterly earn- ings conference call, that the company had received well permits in the fourth quarter, but he did not immediately know how many of these were injectors or how many rep- resented conventional and unconventional wells.
