PGN asked to relocate FSRU from Belawan

Jakarta—The Indonesian government hasasked state-owned gas utility PerusahaanGas Negara to relocate its proposed floatingstorage and regasification unit (FSRU) fromBelawan in North Sumatra to Lampung inSouth Sumatra where PGN is already planninganother floating LNG import facility.In what appears to be an effort to stream-line the various FSRU projects that are beingplanned in the country, the state enterprisesministry told PGN that conversion of state-ownedPertamina’s Arun LNG plant in Aceh to an importterminal could easily supply gas to North Suma-tra and that there was no need for another FSRUthere, according to a senior PGN official.
