Vienna—State-run China National PetroleumCorporation will receive an additional 25 billioncubic meters/year of natural gas from Turkmen-istan by 2020 under a recent agreement, CNPCVice President Wang Dongjin said June 13.This will boost CNPC’s annual gas importsfrom Turkmenistan to 65 Bcm by then.Speaking to reporters on the sidelines ofan OPEC seminar in Vienna, Wang said thatCNPC would conclude a formal gas supplyagreement for the additional volumes withTurkmenistan “by the second half of this yearor beginning of the next year.” In addition, thecompany could receive 5 Bcm/year of gas fromKazakhstan by the end of next year, Wang said.
