ACG Releases Statement on New LCSA Following EPA Stakeholder Meeting's

Washington— The American Chemistry Council (ACC), following participation in the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) recent public stakeholder meetings, has released a statement on the Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act (LCSA). This past June, President Barack Obama signed the LCSA into law to reform the 40-year old Toxic Substances Control Act (PCN, 27 June 2016, p 4). Chemical evaluation and regulation will now meet hew 21st century standards. "ACC fully supports EPA's authority under the new law to systematically prioritize chemicals for risk evaluations," the ACC said.
