Novatek Output Rises 10%

Russia’s largest independent gas firm Novatek recorded a 9.7% year-on-year rise in natural gas production in the first quarter of 2013. Total gas production for the first quarter amounted to 16.1 Bcm. Gross production in March alone totaled 5.54 Bcm, which was a 12.1% rise year-on-year. The boost to output levels has come as a result of the launch of the fourth stage of phase two at the Yurkharovskoye field last year, and the development of the second phase at the Samburgskoye field, in which Novatek holds a 25.5% share.
