Ecopetrol Output, Profits Soar

Colombia's state oil company Ecopetrol said nonconsolidated net profit in the second quarter soared 89.2% versus the same period last year, driven by high oil prices and production increases. Ecopetrol said net profit in the second quarter rose to 3.41 trillion pesos ($1.94 billion) while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization jumped 88% to 6.83 trillion pesos.
