Transneft Pipeline Shipments Disrupted by Deadly Armory Blast

Russian pipeline giant Transneft said on Friday that oil shipments had been halted via a local pipeline in the republic of Udmurtia after an explosion at an armory in the republic late Thursday killed two people, injured more than 50, and forced 28,000 local residents to be evacuated. Transneft spokesman Igor Dyomin said the company has stopped receiving 162,000 barrels per day of crude shipped via the pipeline, which runs from Udmurtia to the city of Naberezhny Chelny in neighboring Tatarstan, from where it links to the main Druzhba pipeline to Europe.
