Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (Taqa)plans to lay out C$47 million (US$46.2 mil-lion) for a 19.9% stake in Canadian firm WesternZagros, which holds two invest-ments in Iraq’s northern Kurdistan region,the company said in a statement Monday.WesternZagros says it holds 2.3 billionbbl of proven and probable oil reserves inthe two blocks and 3.6 billion boe. TheCanadian company, a spinoff of Canada’sWestern Oil Sands, holds a 40% stake in theKurdamir block operated by Talisman, andoperates the Garmian Block.
