Jacobs awarded EPCM contract for Borealis XLPE expansion

Borealis has awarded Jacobs Engineering with an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services contract for a previously announced project to increase cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) production capacity at Borealis's manufacturing site at Stenungsund, Sweden, Jacobs says. The contract value has not been disclosed. Jacobs, under the terms of the contract, is debottle-necking an XLPE compounding and soaking train and increasing intermediate storage capacity for the XLPE base resin in the upstream polymerization plant.
