The preparation of complex polycyclic heterocycles is an important synthetic goal because of the utility of these molecules as potential pharmaceuticals.One of the most efficient approaches for preparing polycyclic molecules is to use domino reactions.Especially attractive are reaction sequences that involve C-H activation reactions since such reactions preclude the presence of additional functionalities in the substrate.
