NYMEX settles 1.2 cents lower on decreased output, weather forecasts

The NYMEX December natural gas futures contract fell1.2 cents Tuesday, settling at $3.555/MMBtu, as S&P Global PlattsAnalytics forecast a day-on-day output decline of 2 Bcf and Novemberweather forecasts show winter is imminent.The front-month contract traded Tuesday between $3.514/MMBtuand $3.581/MMBtu.Following strong increases in NYMEX futures Monday, neutralchanges were observed in the remaining winter NYMEX strip. For theaverage of December through March futures contracts, the winter striptraded at $3.422/MMBtu.
