Cloud Peak to supply coal to new Japanese gasification plants

Cloud Peak Energy Logistics, a subsidiary of Cloud PeakEnergy, has entered into a term coal export sales agreement withSingapore-based JERA Trading to supply coal to two new integratedcoal gasification combined cycle coal-fired power plants in Japan.Shipments are expected to start as early as the end of 2019 andcontinue for 30 to 40 months, reaching up to 1 million mt in the finalcontract year, Cloud Peak said in a news release Tuesday.
