US met coal faces weaker forward price indications

Atlantic met coal markets on Monday remained caught by lower forward demand due to coronavirus measures idling steel and manufacturing plants worldwide. Forward met coal pricing indications found weaker futures pricing since last week, taking premium HCC values below $130/mt FOB Australia. That added pressure for US low-vol HCC and high-vol A, with prices moving below $130/mt FOB US East Coast.
