Weekly US coal train loadings averaged 95.8 in the week ended August 23, down 2.7 trains/day from the previous week and down 9.6 trains/day from the year-ago week, Surface Transportation Board data showed Thursday. The five-year average for the 34th week of the year was 109.9 trains/day. In the prior four years loadings in week 34 ranged between 105.4 trains/day-129.1 trains/day.
