N. America chemical rail up 3.2% YOY

During the week ended 11 August, chemical railcar traffic in North America increased 3.2% year-over-year (YOY) as surging volumes in Canada offset a steep decline in Mexico. Volume totaled 46,490 carloads, up 0.4% from the previous week, according to data released on 15 August by the Association of American Railroads (AAR). For the year to date, chemical railcar traffic in North America is up 2.7%.
