The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Tuesday announced that it will hand down a management plan for regulating levels of perand polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)—including perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS)—in drinking water later this year. “We will convene our federal partners and examine everything we know about PFOA and PFOS in drinking water,” EPA says in a statement. Before releasing the plan, EPA says it will take four "concrete steps" to evaluate the issue.
