Lotte Chemical shuts down cracker, downstream units afer explosion

Lotte Chemical Corp. (Seoul, South Korea) has shut down its naphtha cracker and virtually all downstream derivative units at the company’s petrochemicals complex at Seosan, South Korea, after an explosion occurred at the facility in the early hours of 4 March. At least 41 people were injured in the incident, including 4 Lotte employees and 26 nearby residents, according to a Lotte ofcial.
