Three new M&A transactions were announced during the week ended 27 May, down from fve during the week prior. Year-to- date volumes have fallen slightly behind 2018 levels, but values remain well ahead. While all three announced transactions were minor, the week’s most notable deal was Toyobo’s acquisition of Teijin Film Solutions (TFS). TFS consists of Teijin’s polyester flm businesses in Japan and Indonesia. Toyobo has positioned its flms division as a growth area and is promoting the expansion of the business.
