Revival of five fertiliser units to raise urea output by 6.35-mt annually: Minister

The Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Mr. D. V. Sadananda Gowda, has stated that Government has decided to revive the Barauni unit of Hindustan Fertiliser Corporation Ltd. (HFCL) and the Gorakhpur, Sindri, Talcher & Ramagundam units of Fertiliser Corporation of India Ltd. (FCIL) on nomination route by setting up new ammonia-urea plants of 1.27-mtpa capacity at each location. The Barauni unit of HFCL and the Sindri and Gorakhpur units of FCIL are being revived by Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd. (HURL), a joint venture of National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC), Coal India Ltd. (CIL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOC), FCIL & HFCL.
