The appropriate level of overvoltage limitation in extrahigh and ultrahigh-voltage electrical networks

Results of an additional examination of air gaps typical of the insulation Systems of extrahigh-voltageand ultrahigh-voltage overhead transmission lines and outdoor switchgear are given. Using theseresults, the possibility of reducing the design ratio of switching overvoltages is estimated.
