Minumum requirements imposed on a microcontroller system of controlling a switched reluctance drive are determined. Simplified methods for evaluating the price of controllers on the basis of the processor Intel 8xCl96MH are set forth. An approximate competitive price limit in comparison with a conventional frequency controlled electric drive is determined.
