In the article "Dissemination of antibiotic-resistant enterococci within the ward environment: The role of airborne bacteria and the risk posed by unrecognized carriers" by Muzslay et al, in the January issue of the American Journal of Infection Control (2013;41:57-60), there are errors in the fourth paragraph of Results on the second page.Currently reads as:The median number of airborne enterococci recovered from the open bay and adjacent isolation room was 1 cfu/cm2 (IQR, 0-3 cfu/m3) and 0 cfu/m3, respectively (n = 33). During week 14, this increased to 122 cfu/cm2 (IQR, 111-133 cfu/m3) in the open bay and 8 cfu/cm2 (IQR, 4-11 cfu/m3) in the isolation room (n = 2).Instead, it should read as:The median number of airborne enterococci recovered from the open bay and adjacent isolation room was 1 cfu/m3 (IQR, 0-3 cfu/m3) and 0 cfu/m3, respectively (n = 33).
