Electro-mechanic hardening of valve springs

The article discusses how valve spring parameters affect engine performance. A method is described of spring recovery by electro-mechanic treatment, and a device to implement the latter. Optimum treatment conditions are determined. The results of microstructural and X-ray examination are discussed.
