Peculiarities and some characteristics of electroslag surfacing process with two electrode strips

A process of electroslag surfacing with two electrode strips was developed. The influence was studied of ESS mode parameters on the size of beads and share of base metal in the deposited layer. It is shown that the efficiency of the ESS processwith two strips is approximately two times higher than in ESS with one strip. The conditions of supporting a stable electroslag surfacing process were studied. A flux of AN-90 grade was developed for ESS with two electrode strips from stainless steels.The required industrial equipment was developed.
