Peculiarities of the formation of brazed joints in thin-walled structures in space

Problems of formation of welds of truss structure connections of a thin-walled shape of unclosed section (alloy 36NKhTYu) in electron-beam brazing with low-melting point brazing alloys using a versatile hand tool on the Earth and in space are considered. It is shown that under the effect of a non-homogeneous temperature field on the workpiece a non-homogeneous brazed joint and, in case of penetration of assembly, a welded-brazed joint are formed. In latter case the structural strength of the connection increases and it can be used for construction of trusses in space. It was experimentally proved that the conditions of microgravitation improve the joint formation due to measuring the surface tension forces.
