Stability of operation and service life of hydrogen-oxygen electrolysis generators

摘要

Experience of operation of hydrogen-oxygen electrolysis generators (HOEG) is analyzed. It is shown that for welding the steel parts of up to 2 mm thickness, it is rational to use the HOEG of about 0,6 m{sup}3/h efficiency, for welding and brazingthe non-ferrous metals and alloys of a small thickness - 0,3...0,8 m{sup}3/h. In spraying of coatings from low-melting powdered materials, the HOEG efficiency should be not less than 0,8... 1,0 m8/h, whereas the HOEG of 1...2 m{sup}3/h efficiency can beused for the preheating flame in oxygas cutting. It is found that in order to increase the time of continuous stable operation in the modes of maximal efficiency, it is necessary to apply the forced air cooling of the electrolyser, additionalpumping-through of the electrolyte with the pump and change the electrodes polarity not less than once per shift during the generator operation.
