摘要

The effect of magnetic pole shape on the remanentmagnetization state at the track edge was studied for a ring-typehead and a single-layered perpendicular medium system. AnMIG head and a merged MR head were used for recording.These heads have symmetric and asymmetric magnetic polestructures, respectively. It was found that the remanentmagnetization state at the track edge of a single-layeredperpendicular medium was greatly influenced by the shapes ofthe magnetic poles. This Thus is necessary to improve the shapeof magnetic poles in order to realize the higher track density fora single-layered perpendicular medium.
