Cocaine has become one of the most widely used illicit drags in Europe, its diffusion being second only to cannabis and its derivatives.Human body packers are smugglers who swallow large quantities of accurately sealed packets containing about 10 g of cocaine (pure or mixed with other substances). The risk of rapture within the gastrointestinal tract of the smuggler is always present and can lead to fatal consequences, due to severe cocaine intoxication2. The drug toxicity can be enhanced by cutting agents.
